Congratulations to David Roberts and the team at Reed Group on sale to strategic buyer, Guardian Insurance
Reed Group in Westminster bought by Guardian Life Insurance
Reed Group helps customers reduce the cost, compliance risk and complexity of employee absences. It will operate as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Guardian and retain its name, Guardian said in a press release Friday.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“We are excited to have our long-term home as part of Guardian,” David Roberts, CEO of Reed Group, said in the release. “We share their commitment to providing excellent absence management services to employers and employees. All of our customers can expect a continued high level of service from Reed Group and, backed by the strength of a Fortune 500 company, we will take advantage of new opportunities.”
Reed Group said it will continue to operate, and invest in, its current three divisions: Reed Group Services, to help manage and administer claims and absences; LeavePro, a software solution that helps employers manage absences; and MDGuidelines, a web-based return-to-work toolkit.
“Reed Group is well recognized and respected in the marketplace with a proven track record of ensuring workplace productivity and compliance for customers,” Deanna Mulligan, president and CEO of Guardian, said in the release. “We look forward to helping ensure their continued success in the markets they serve and working with them to seek out new opportunities.”
Founded in 1860, Guardian has about 5,000 employees in the United States and a network of more than 3,000 financial representatives in 80 agencies nationwide.
